It was the reputation of the good working environment and Løvoldthe strong position in the aquaculture industry that made Maria want to start working with us. The first few months have been filled with new products, work tasks and people to get to know.
– I have been well received by skilled colleagues, and there is just the right amount of coffee to keep the pace up, she says.
In her day-to-day work, Maria follows up on orders and maintains contact with our suppliers. She takes an in-depth look at Løvold the products and how the purchasing process is structured. For Maria, the role involves keeping an overview, identifying potential challenges, and finding good solutions.
– Preferably before the problem even arises.
She also finds it exciting to develop something together with the suppliers. This can be new products, more efficient production methods, or better delivery options.
When it comes to what creates good supplier collaboration, she is clear:
– Transparency, honesty and good communication. It’s about building relationships where both parties want the other to succeed.
From working life in China to Løvold
The experiences in China have taught Maria how to manage a fast-paced and constantly changing everyday life. New suppliers, regulations, production methods, and transportation routes made it important to be adaptable.
– My time in China taught me that everything changes – constantly. You just have to adjust to the pace instead of being scared.
Knowing the language and the culture made it easier for Maria to understand both the people and the way they worked. She experienced that the suppliers often took the time to explain when they could speak their own language.
– They opened up more and were willing to talk about more than just work, like life in general and how things work in China. You get a completely different kind of trust and personal contact.
These are experiences that Maria brings with her in her collaboration with our suppliers. At Hos Løvold, she also follows the development of the aquaculture industry closely.
– It’s fascinating to see the development in the industry. There’s always a lot of exciting innovation happening.
Enjoying good colleagues and new challenges
Good colleagues, satisfied customers, and a smoothly running purchasing process are what motivate Maria in her daily work. In the future, she looks forward to getting to know our products and suppliers even better and helping to make the purchasing routines as efficient as possible.
She is also looking forward to getting to know the people in Løvold the group better and learning to play Mattis and have lunch at the same time. However, one thing has proved to be more difficult than expected.
– How insanely hard it is to win in the wine lottery here at the house!
In her free time, Maria spends time with her family, and with a new house there are plenty of projects to tackle, both indoors and in the garden. She also enjoys cabin trips, good books, and knitting.
We are happy to have Maria on the team, and greatly appreciate the experience and commitment she brings!
